Link to a project or customer
In the properties area, choose the matching entry under Project or Customer via the searchable picker. Customer only appears if the CRM module is enabled. Both fields also determine which group the task shows up under on a project or customer overview board.
Assign a milestone
Under Milestone, choose an existing milestone from your organization.
Subtasks and the parent task
Parent task turns the current task into a subtask of another one. The picker automatically hides the task itself as well as every one of its own subtasks, so no circular link can form.
Assign a week
The Week field chooses a Monday-aligned calendar week. It's the same field the Assign dialog sets in the Resource Planning module — enter a week here and the task shows up there again in exactly that week's schedule.
Enter estimated hours
Estimated hours feeds into Resource Planning's capacity utilization and into sprint reports, and appears in Decision context alongside the actual hours of similar past tasks.
Flag Waiting on and Blocked
Waiting on records a single person this task is waiting on. Tasks where you're set as "Waiting on", or where you're mentioned in the comments, appear in that person's Daily Overview.
The This task is stuck checkbox, plus an optional reason, flags a task as blocked. Blocked tasks are counted together and automatically flag their related project as "stalled" once enough of them are open.
Frequently asked questions
Can a task be assigned to a project and a customer at the same time?
Yes, both fields are independent of each other and can be set at the same time.
What counts as "waiting on me" for the Daily Overview?
Two signals: tasks where you're explicitly set as Waiting on, and tasks where you were @-mentioned in a recent comment.
Is one blocked task enough to flag the whole project as stalled?
That depends on the number of open blocked tasks in the project; a status note set manually on the project can also override this automatic assessment.
Can I make a task its own parent task?
No. The picker hides the task itself and all of its own subtasks, so no circular link can form.
