Create custom boards: filter, customer, project, and cross-org boards

Alongside the default board, sprint, and All organizations, you create as many custom board tabs as you want — as a filtered kanban, as a customer or project overview, or as a personal cross-org board.

Prerequisites
  • You're signed in and your organization has the "Tasks" module enabled.

Fixed tabs at a glance

Board always shows the default kanban with no filter. If a sprint is active, a sprint tab with its name appears automatically — see the Sprints module for details. If you belong to more than one organization, All organizations also appears: a combined view across every one of your organizations, where you can only move tasks between statuses via drag and drop; clicking a card opens it in its own organization.

Create a custom board

  1. Click the plus icon to the right of the tabs.
  2. Give it a name.
  3. Choose a template: Board with filter, Customer overview, Project overview, or — visible only if you belong to more than one organization — Cross-org (personal).
  4. Click Create.

Board with filter

Shows the normal kanban or list board, but always pre-loaded with the filters saved when it was created: category, priority, status, assigned to, project, due date, and tags. A board that looks empty at first glance is usually a saved filter that's too narrow, not a bug.

Customer and project overview

Instead of columns, these two templates show expandable groups: Customer overview groups by CRM customer, Project overview by project. Only tasks with an actual link appear there; unlinked tasks stay invisible. Additional saved filters narrow it further.

Create a cross-org board (personal)

This template is the only one that isn't shared with the team — it lives in your personal profile and is visible only to you.

  1. Choose the Cross-org (personal) template.
  2. Under Organizations, check which of your organizations to include.
  3. Optionally set saved filters — only organization-independent criteria are available, like priority, status, due date, and tags, since category, assignees, and projects mean something different in each organization.

The board's columns combine the default statuses of every included organization and line up their own custom columns around them; a custom column doesn't accept a task from a different organization — it can only be dragged there within its own organization.

Set a board as default, edit, or delete it

Hover over a board tab: the star icon marks that board as your default for this organization — opening Tasks afterward with no specific tab chosen then opens this board instead of the default one. The pencil icon opens the edit dialog, where you'll also find Delete at the bottom left.

Frequently asked questions

Do my colleagues see my cross-org board?

No. It lives in your personal profile and is visible only to you, unlike the other templates, which are shared organization settings.

Does a cross-org board expand my access rights?

No. The selection of included organizations just shows you together what you're already allowed to see.

Can I set several boards as the default at once?

No, only one per organization. A newly marked board replaces the previous one.

Does removing a board also delete its tasks?

No. Only the board tab and its saved filters disappear; the tasks themselves stay unchanged.
