Time tracking: view time by project

The Projects tab groups every task by category and shows how much time was logged per category, task, and person.

Prerequisites
  • You're signed in and your organization has the "Time Tracking" module enabled.

Total time and categories

At the top, a card shows the total time across every category. Below that, each category (Marketing, Operational, Coding, Ideas, Bugs) gets an expandable row with an icon, task count, and the category's total time. Categories with no tasks aren't shown.

Expand tasks and people

Within a category, each task shows its status (Backlog, Todo, In progress, Done), the total time logged, and the number of people involved. Clicking a task expands time by person.

What this view is based on

This view is based on the same most-recently-loaded time entries as the list in the Timer tab — currently the last 10. For a complete view over a chosen period, use the Reports tab.

Common pitfalls

  • Only the most recently loaded entries are included

Total time and category sums are based on the last 10 time entries (the same list as the Timer tab), not the full history. For reliable figures over a period, use Reports.

  • People show only an initial, not a name

When you expand a task, each person currently shows only an initial and the first characters of their internal ID, not a real name. Names are visible instead in the Reports tab (Team performance, Top tasks).

Frequently asked questions

Why is a category missing entirely?

Categories with no assigned tasks are hidden. As soon as a task is assigned to that category, it appears automatically.

Why does the total time here differ from Reports?

Projects only evaluates the last 10 loaded time entries, while Reports evaluates every entry within the chosen period (7, 30, or 90 days).
