Connect files as a network drive on Windows, macOS, and iOS

WebDAV mounts your organization's files directly on your computer. You create your own WebDAV key for this and use it as the password when connecting.

Prerequisites
  • You're signed in and the Files module is enabled in your organization.

Create a WebDAV key

  1. Open Account and, in Integrations & access, click Open.
  2. In the WebDAV (network drive) section, click Generate new key.
  3. Under Key name, enter a name, for example "Office PC".
  4. Choose the access level and enable Account-wide if needed.
  5. Click Generate and copy the key with Copy key.

The key is only shown in full once. After creating it, you'll also find a link to the WebDAV setup there.

Choose an access level

  • Read only: view and open files.
  • Read + Write: also upload, change, and move files.
  • Full access: also delete files.

Copy the server address

On the WebDAV setup page, you'll find your app's full address. It ends in /api/webdav. You'll need this address in every step that follows.

Connect on Windows

  1. Open Explorer and choose This PC.
  2. Right-click and choose Map network drive.
  3. Click Connect to a Web site that you can use to store your documents and pictures at the bottom. Don't use the regular network-drive field.
  4. Enter the address from the WebDAV setup.
  5. Sign in with any username and your WebDAV key as the password.

Connect on macOS

  1. Open Finder and choose Go → Connect to Server… (⌘ + K).
  2. Enter the address from the WebDAV setup.
  3. Sign in with any username and your WebDAV key as the password.

Connect on iPhone and iPad

  1. Open the Files app, tap … in the top right, and choose Connect to Server.
  2. Enter the address from the WebDAV setup.
  3. Choose Sign in (not "as Guest").
  4. Use any username and your WebDAV key as the password, and tap Connect.

Find your organization on the drive

An organization-bound key shows that organization's files directly. An account-wide key first shows a list of your organizations by slug. Open the folder for the organization you want there.

End the connection and revoke the key

To disconnect, unmount the drive in Explorer, Finder, or the Files app. To permanently lock access, click Revoke next to the key in the WebDAV (network drive) section.

Frequently asked questions

Which password do I use?

The WebDAV key. Your regular account password and an MCP key don't work for this.

Which username do I enter?

Any one. Sign-in is verified via the key, so the username doesn't matter.

Why can I read files but not save or delete them?

Check the key's access level: saving requires at least Read + Write, deleting requires Full access.

Can I view a lost key again?

No. Create a new key, enter it as the password on the drive, and revoke the old one.
