Create a poll with /poll
"/poll" opens an editor for a question and 2 to 10 options, optionally with multiple choice and an end date. The poll appears as an interactive voting card in the channel; results and every individual vote can be viewed at any time.
Create a task or appointment with /task and /meeting
"/task" and "/meeting" open quick-create dialogs that directly create a real task or a real meeting — including priority, due date or date, notes, and, for online appointments with no location of their own, an automatically generated meeting link. The result appears as a clickable card in the channel, with no need to open the Tasks or Calendar module.
Call the AI assistant with /ai
"/ai" sends the conversation so far (since the last pause of more than 10 minutes) together with your optional instruction to the AI assistant. It replies directly and visibly to every member in the channel, and, with full tool access (the same MCP tools as the AI assistant), can immediately create or change tasks, meetings, and more — with no confirmation step, using your own permissions and roles.
In a meeting chat, "/ai" behaves differently: there, it only answers questions about that specific meeting, based on the transcript, summary, and action items.
@-mentions link to almost any resource
An "@" opens a search across people, tasks, invoices, CRM leads, Knowledgebase articles, projects, sprints, meetings, milestones, and files at once. A chosen mention turns into a clickable chip with an icon that jumps straight to that resource.
Reach everyone in the channel: @all
"@all" isn't a real resource, it's a broadcast marker: it notifies every member of the channel, regardless of their individual notification settings for it.
Voice messages, file attachments, and reactions
The microphone icon records a voice message and posts it as a playable player; the paperclip icon in the "+" menu attaches a file. Both work alongside regular text and images (with a lightbox preview). Every message can also get exactly one emoji reaction — a new reaction from you replaces a previous one of yours.
Common pitfalls
"/ai" posts publicly in the channel
Unlike a private conversation in the AI Assistant module, the reply to "/ai" is a regular message in the channel — visible to every member, not just you.
The AI assistant carries out actions immediately, with no confirmation
If you add an instruction after "/ai", the assistant carries out matching actions (e.g. creating a task) right away — with your own permissions, but with no confirmation step like in the regular AI Assistant chat.
Frequently asked questions
Can I choose several options at once in a poll?
Only if the creator enabled "Allow multiple choice" when creating it — otherwise only one vote per person counts.
Does /task really create a task, or just a reference in chat?
A real task in your organization's Tasks module — it then appears normally on the kanban board and is linked directly from the card in chat.
What happens if I use @all in a very large channel?
Every member gets a notification, regardless of their personal notification settings for the channel — @all deliberately overrides those.
