Replays, Surveys, and Live

Replays, Surveys, and Live tap directly into PostHog features and link out there for details. With Google Analytics 4 as the provider, all three tabs are locked.

Prerequisites
  • You're signed in and have access to the Metrics area.
  • PostHog is connected as the provider under settings — with Google Analytics 4, all three tabs stay locked.

View Replays

The Replays tab lists up to 25 session recordings from PostHog: person or distinct ID, start URL, duration, timestamp, and whether the recording has already been Viewed. View opens the recording directly in PostHog in a new tab.

Analyze Surveys

The Surveys tab evaluates the response events (survey sent) for the chosen period, grouped by survey.

  • If Project Manager detects that at least 90% of a survey's responses are numbers between 0 and 10, it automatically scores it as NPS: promoters (9–10), passives (7–8), and detractors (0–6), plus the computed NPS score.
  • Each survey shows its status (Active, Draft, Paused, Ended), response count, and an Open in PostHog link.
  • Below that are up to 25 recent individual responses with a timestamp.

With no matching surveys, the tab shows a note, plus a link to every survey in PostHog if one exists.

Watch the Live feed

The Live tab shows active users from the last 5 minutes and an event feed that refreshes automatically every 8 seconds, as long as the tab is visible. Pause stops refreshing, Resume starts it again.

Internal PostHog events (starting with $, except page views) are shown dimmed; your own events appear normally.

Common pitfalls

  • All three tabs are PostHog-exclusive

With Google Analytics 4 as the provider, Replays, Surveys, and Live stay locked (grayed out, with a PH badge in settings) — switching back to PostHog is the only way to make them usable again.

Frequently asked questions

Why isn't a survey scored as NPS?

Project Manager only automatically scores a survey as NPS, with promoters, passives, and detractors, if at least 90% of its responses are numbers between 0 and 10. With mixed or free-text responses, that's skipped.

How current is the live feed?

It shows events from the last 5 minutes and refreshes automatically every 8 seconds, as long as the tab is in the foreground and you haven't paused it.
